Longbow Legal Case Management Software

Since there appears to be no progress in the development of Case Explorer (aka TortPro) now seems to be a good time to take advantage of the maturation of some advanced software technologies to create an all new system. Smartphones, scanning, Web 2.0 and the continued deepening of the integration capacity of the various Microsoft Office apps makes now a perfect time to completely rethink the way a case management system should be designed and used.

To get a look at the current development list, click here: http://www.archi-tech-ture.com/Longbow/

In addition to the new technologies I'd like to fold into Longbow, I'd also like the system to be designed and tailored to the needs of Chicago, Cook County and Illinois injury attorney's.

Having said all that I'd like to start the Longbow blog by talking a little about Smart Client technology. A Smart Client is a program that's designed to run as a traditional windows application on a standard desktop or laptop PC but also monitor internet connection availbility to use it for purposes of updating the software or retrieving data from remote servers.

What this will primarily mean for Longbow is that it will update itself automatically from a master version server hosted by us. This will make keeping Longbow up to date, from the standpoint of new version and bug fixes, tranparent and automatic. This is especially important for mobile devices like Smartphones, Palms, Pocket PCs and laptops.
